Excellence in Teaching and Research


    Bruce C. Bordner, Ph. D. is a teacher-scholar, government relations professional, and political scientist.  He currently serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Division of Politics, Administration and Justice at California State University, Fullerton.  Previously, he has served as a Lecturer in the Political Science Department at the University of California at Riverside, as well as Adjunct Faculty in American Politics in the Department of History and Political Science at the University of La Verne.  More recently, he has served both as Interim Full-Time Faculty and Associate Faculty in Political Science within the Department of Political Science at Mt. San Jacinto College.

        Bruce’s background is one working in applied politics and political science.  Prior to returning to graduate school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and a Doctorate in Political Science, Bruce worked in the California State Assembly, California State Senate, and the United States House of Representatives.

        In addition to his legislative background, Bruce has worked in corporate governmental affairs with a former Member of the United States Congress, and as a Legislative Associate for Foley and Company Government and Public Affairs, located in Potomac, Maryland.  The primary focus of these governmental affairs practices has been on the development and management of federal legislative strategies and appropriations requests on the behalf of corporations and municipalities.

        When he is not teaching political science, designing new course offerings, or developing governmental relations programs, Dr. Bordner is a dedicated husband, and the father of two young children.  His hobbies include traveling, swimming, and skiing.
